Ozark's Julia Garner offered Madonna role in biopic about the pop icon

A movie on the iconic Material Girl is coming to a screen near you soon and we couldn't be more excited to get our 80's boots back on. After a hunt for the perfect Queen of Pop, producers are thought to have finally found someone to Get Into The Groove of the film, directed by Madonna herself. Cue Ozark's Julia Garner.

According to Variety, the Inventing Anna star beat off competition from actors including Florence Pugh and Euphoria’s Alexa Demie.

Madonna said she hoped to 'convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer — a human being, trying to make her way in this world.'

The music legend told the publication: "The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me.

"It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision."

The star is releasing a line of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) featuring imaginative digital artworks including the singer giving birth to a tree, robot insects and butterflies.

Revealing the collaboration with digital artist Michael Winkelmann on Instagram, Madonna told critics who deemed it 'too graphic': “I’m doing what women have been doing since the beginning of time, which is giving birth."
