Gogglebox’s Jenny shares health update following absence from show

Gogglebox star Jenny Newby has been missing from the show recently but has shared she will be back very soon.

Jenny and Lee have become one of our favourite faces to appear on the TV on a Friday night, but recently they have been absent from the show after Jenny took some time off for an operation.

It was not thought to be anything serious and was something she had been planning for a while. Now, she has shared she is on the mend in a video shared on the duo’s official Instagram.

The caption read: “Just a quick message to say all is well with Jenny and thank you for your support and well wishes have a great summer and see you all in September, much love Jenny and Lee xxx.”

In the clip, Lee also says: “Hi everybody, you’ll never guess who I’ve just bumped into.”

Turning the camera to face Jenny, he adds: “She’s out of hospital!”

Jenny then says: “I just want to thank you all for your kind get well wishes, they’ve really cheered me up, thank you very much and I’m looking forward to seeing you all in series 20.”

Lee also revealed that the new series would be coming to Channel 4 in September!

Fans were delighted to hear the news and took the comments to share their excitement, with one user writing: “I'll be sure to show this to my 12 year old. She has really missed you both this last few weeks on Gogglebox 📺”. 

Another said: “Aww so pleased you are out of hospital Jenny sending you lots of love and best wishes on the rest of your recovery ❤️‍🩹. I can’t wait to have you back on our screens very soon xx 😘”. 

A third wrote: “Happy to see you looking so well Jenny, you've both been missed. See you in Sept ❤️ xx”.

The pair have been a firm favourite with fans since they first appeared in 2014 and have provided a lot of laughs over the years with their quick remarks and hilarious reactions.

They first met in Jenny’s pub, where Lee was a regular, and soon became close friends.

Gogglebox continues Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
