The former Doctor Who showrunner, Steven Moffat has revealed he has two new projects in the works with David Tennant and Peter Capaldi.

Moffat revealed he had written a new thriller/ drama series for the BBC titled Inside Man, which will star Tennant as a priest, reports RadioTimes.com.

Speaking exclusively to them, the writer teased he wanted to keep it “mysterious” so was reluctant to give any details.

He did say: “Most detective shows are whodunits. This one is more like a ‘who will do it’ or a possibly a ‘you done it’. Its central idea is anyone can be a murderer. And it won’t be the one you expect.”

Joining Tennant for the new series will be the likes of Lydia West and Dolly Wells.

On top of Inside Man, Moffat has something else in the works that will see him work with another former Doctor Who star.

He will be serving as executive producer for The Devil’s Hour, written by Tom Morgan and featuring Peter Capaldi.

Again, Moffat has been reluctant to give any solid details about the series, but it is expected to follow a murder case where Capaldi’s character becomes the prime suspect.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com again, Moffat said: “It’s a really hard one to define, and we asked all the actors to define it.

“And Peter Capaldi being a genius said, ‘Listen to your nightmares.’ So that’s the best I can tell you.

Well, that certainly doesn’t sound cheery, but it definitely sounds interesting.

Steven Moffat was the executive producer and head writer on Doctor Who from series 5 in 2010 to series 10 in 2016, so he has worked with both Tennant and Capaldi before, including Matt Smith.

He was the second showrunner of the revival, and his episodes for the series have widely been considered some of the best.
