Gillian Anderson has launched herself into another iconic role as First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and how different does she look? Again.

The Crown star who previously wowed the public with her uncanny take on Margaret Thatcher has had the makeover of all makeovers and will play the longest-serving First Lady of the United States.

Flying the flag for her own political beliefs and as the wife of President Franklin D Roosevelt, she 'carved out her own path in politics, championed the civil rights movement and the expanded role of women in the workplace'.

In this new clip she asks: "You would like me to hold a press conference to discuss dusting?"

Showtime's anthology series is 'a revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House'.

Betty Ford will be played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Viola Davis stars as Michelle Obama.

Gillian said of her company Fiddlehead Productions teaming up with the streaming giant for more upcoming shows: "Netflix have been an inspiring and supportive home for much of my recent acting work, so I am excited to partner with them for the television projects I am currently developing.

"We have a shared passion for progressive, compelling and engaging stories and I'm thrilled to announce our collaboration."
