An eight-part Italian series is dropping on Sky Atlantic and NOW in April this year and it centres around the life of prison boss whose status is being threatened.

The prison drama will star Luca Zingaretti as ‘The King’ Bruno Testori and Isabella Ragonese as a prison Police agent of San Michele.

Directed by Guiseppe Gagliardi, the series will follow the Bruno Testori, who has ended up becoming a very controversial prison boss who abides by his own set of special laws to keep the other inmates in check.

On the outside, his life is in tatters, but on the inside he is ‘The King’.

He’s ruthless to those who deserve it and compassionate to other as he strictly sticks to the principles of his own obscure morals. However, after a murder in the prison threatens his kingdom, Bruno finds himself forced to protect it and fight one of his most difficult battles.

In the trailer, we see him teaming up with Prison Police agent Ragonese to try and save his world.

After watching the teaser, it’s clear to see this is going to be a high stakes and gritty drama full of violence and tense moments with a morally corrupt protagonist that you can’t help rooting for.

Also joining the cast will be Anna Bonauito, Barbora Bobulova and Giorgio Colngeli.

The King will debut on Sky Atlantic and TV streaming service NOW in April.
