The nation loves nothing more than a side of blood and guts after a long day. The BBC drama slayed other popular soaps to win the prestigious award competing against tough TV competition.
The long-running hospital-based show beat off Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Holby City to bag Best Soap and Continuing Drama at the Broadcast Awards.
They wrote on their official Twitter page: "Exciting news! Thank you."
After a short break off air thanks to the pandemic, the much-loved soap returned in January offering a special episode based on the Emergency Department's experience of the Coronavirus' first wave.
Viewers took to social media to congratulate the team.
One fan penned: "Well deserved! Great drama so well acted, great stories and so well put together! We’ve followed it from the very start! TV at its very best!"
Another simply added: "Well done, Casualty."
A third penned: "Well done team Casualty, you should all be proud of yourself (sic)."
Others commented: "So well deserved! Incredible storylines, acting and special effects! Cast and crew take a bow!"
As well as: "Well done to everyone at Casualty, you all should be so proud, well deserved."
The multi-award-winning soap also bagged Best Continuing Drama at the recent BAFTAs.
A blood-y good time for Casualty.
