It seems as though the wait for the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul is almost over.

If, like us, you are desperate to find out what happens at the end of the Breaking Bad prequel, then you’ll want to pay close attention to the new teaser which has dropped.

Why? Because it looks like it has revealed a cryptic clue regarding when the final season of the hit show will air.

AMC has released a short clip to tease the new episodes of the acclaimed drama. It shows the terrifying twins Leonel and Marco Salamanca - who, somewhat confusingly, are called The Cousins - walking in their unmistakable boots and suits. They wander through a crime scene and into the distance.

The clip is captioned on Twitter: “#BetterCallSaul returns for its final season. Mark your calendar.”

At first glance, this seems a little odd, as there is no actual date for the new season given in the clip. But some clever fans think they’ve worked out the date that the first episode will land. Within the crime scene in the video, someone has placed evidence tags. One has the letter D on it, the other has the letter R.

This has led people to deduce that the start date of season six of Better Call Saul is April 18th. How did they reach this conclusion? Well, D is the fourth letter of the alphabet, and R is the 18th. So, 4/18 then, which, in the North American way of writing dates, is April 18th. Over in the UK, of course, it would be 18/4.

Nothing has been confirmed by AMC, but if this is indeed correct it means we only have just over two months to wait to discover what happens following (season 5 spoiler alert) Gus’s failed assassination attempt on Lalo.

Whilst we know that Jimmy (aka Saul), Mike and Gus all end up in Breaking Bad, Kim Wexler notably does not. If you're anything like us, you are keeping everything crossed that nothing bad happens to her. The same goes for Nacho!

Better Call Saul last aired in April 2020. Last July, its lead, Bob Odenkirk, suffered a heart attack while on set, but returned to the set six weeks later.
