The ITV series has seen plenty of famous faces take to the ice, from singer Lemar, Grease star Didi Conn, to TV icon Gemma Collins, but here are the celebs the judging panel would love to see next.

When asked who was on their Dancing on Ice contestant ‘bucket list’, the judges, Jane Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo, gave some pretty interesting answers.

Speaking at a press event this week, judge Jane Torvill revealed: “I always say, David Beckham.”

Well, he’s already pretty light on his feet!

Newcomer to the judging panel, Oti Mabuse, also chimed in with a celebrity who is no stranger to the dancefloor at least.

She said: “I would like to see Alesha Dixon. I don’t know why, but I just want to see her come on!”

Alicia Dixon previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing when she won the competition in 2007 and returned as a judge for three years in 2012- so she would know a thing a two about the dancing side of things.

Diversity frontman and fellow judge, Ashley Banjo, suggested the return of a former contestant, he chimed in, saying: “I’m going to go out there and say the return of Gemma Collins.

“She was actually so entertaining.”

Watch the trailer for this year’s Dancing On Ice below:

Gemma joined the competition in 2019 and received a pretty serious injury when dancing live on the ice. She was later eliminated after a skate-off with partner Ryan Sidebottom after failing to win over the public with her Survivor routine.

Ashley’s answer made the other judges erupt with laughter and prompted Oti Mabuse to call for an “all-star’s series” of the show with former contestants returning to compete against each other.

Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, also revealed the people they would like to see compete next. For Holly, she would love someone who could do even more than dance.

She explained: “I remember last year, for the very first time Lady Leisha came out, and she did a bit of singing.

“So, I quite like that combination of singing and skating. So, someone like JLO?”

Now that would be one to watch!

However, perhaps the most surprising answer of all came from Phillip Schofield, who said he would like to see the current Prime Minister have a go!

He joked: “Well, I think you’ve always got to look for someone who maybe wants a different career option or different things they can do to fill in extra time.

 So maybe, Boris!”

As entertaining as that would be, we’re not sure about that one, Phill.

Check out why he thinks this year's competition is the best one yet.

Dancing On Ice starts Sunday, 16 January on ITV and ITV Hub at 6:30pm.
