The actor has revealed he will be taking on a villain role in the upcoming Marvel film set to be released in 2023.
In October last year, Bill accidentally announced he had been cast in an undisclosed role in the latest installment of the Ant-man series.
Ever since his slip-up, he has been tight-lipped about it, and when later asked about the role in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, he could only say: “I’m not at liberty to talk about it.”
The actor has now confirmed, however, that he will be in the movie as a villain.
Appearing on the Eli Manning Show, he was asked by host Eli: “Aren’t you in a superhero movie coming out? Ant-Man?”
Not only did Bill say yes, but he added: “My power is, I’m a bad guy.”
That seems to be all he could say about the role for now, and we have no idea how significant his part is in the film or what character he will be playing.
Marvel also continues to stay silent on the situation despite this confirmation.
What we do know is that Paul Rudd, who plays Ant-Man, and Evangeline Lilly, who plays the Wasp, will be returning to the film alongside Michelle Pfeifer, Kathryn Newton and Michael Douglas.
Murray has appeared in many cult comedy classics such as Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day and Tootsie- where he plays some pretty loveable characters. So, it will be interesting to see what he does as a villain if he does end up appearing in the upcoming Marvel film.
This will be the third installment of the Ant-Man series and part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be appearing in cinemas on 28 July 2023.
