The actor says he doesn't have "much left to do" in acting.
When you've had a career as incredible as Denzel's, it's no surprise he's ticked off nearly everything on his to-do list.
Now the star has admitted he is looking for new challenges to try, to keep himself busy and interested.
He confessed it would require an "extreme challenge" for him to take on a new acting project.
Washington says he's now looking to do "other things" with his time, but all hope is not lost as he says he's also talking to "top directors" about some possibilities.
Fingers crossed we haven't seen the last of Denzel on our screens, and he was talking about his career at the premiere of his new movie, 'The Tragedy Of Macbeth'.

He said candidly: "I'm about the challenges. At this point, like the character, I'm in the yellow leaf of my career. To be quite honest, looking to do other things. So as far as acting, it's gonna have to be an extreme challenge for me to be interested.
"I've been talking to one or two of the top directors in the business, and we're talking about maybe doing something. There's not that much left for me to do as an actor. Maybe Lear."
Denzel plays the title role of Macbeth in the new film, and described working on the project as "a great ride".
He told Entertainment Tonight: "It was just a great ride with a group of talented, talented young and older actors led by a brilliant, brilliant director."

He's also been busy in the director's chair too, on 'A Journal for Jordan', starring Michael B. Jordan.
Denzel called the project a "tear-jerker".
He's certainly keeping busy!
