She's still the Queen of the Night. Whitney Houston's The Bodyguard is on its way back and in the talented hands of Tony-nominated Matthew López. The playwright has the task of reimagining the iconic Whitney Houston film.

Variety revealed the new offering will be inspired by the 1992 hit movie starring the late singer and Kevin Costner, which grossed more than £289 million at the worldwide box office.

Thirty years on, the feature will have all the bestselling tracks like I Will Always Love You and I Have Nothing.

While actors Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, and Channing Tatum and Cardi B have mentioned as potential leads, the cast haven't been announced yet.

The star who passed away in 2012 played the actress and singer Rachel Marron, while Costner starred as Frank Farmer whose job was to protect Marron from a stalker - but they fall in love with each other.
