Chris Ramsey is back hosting BBC’s Children In Need alongside Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, Alex Scott tonight (Friday 18th November) from 7pm on BBC One. While on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky, the Geordie comedian revealed what’s to come on the star-studded charity evening, and why he loves the fact it’s a role his kids can enjoy.

2022 marks the third year that Chris has been at the forefront of Children in Need, which this time will feature a children’s takeover of Blankety Blank, a special edition of The Weakest Link with Romesh Ranganathan, plus a live reveal from The Repair Shop team.

On what viewers can expect, the Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed podcast host explained: “It's just an awesome lineup. This is my third year doing it as a host, which is always an honour and a surprise to be asked back considering the podcast and the other jobs that I do.

“This is the first proper one I've been involved in because the first one was for no audience fully distanced. The second one last year was bigger and better, and this year, it's phenomenal.

“We've got a live reveal of Repair Shop, which is…emotional as an understatement. Diversity are doing a massive thing. We've got Lewis Capaldi, we've got all kinds of going on. It's gonna be brilliant.”

It’s all for a good cause too, with the money raised helping Children in Need to provide vital frontline support to children and young people across the UK during the cost of living crisis, supporting them to thrive and be the best they can be.

Children in Need is a bit of a novelty for Chris, given the very grown-up nature of his podcast and comedy.

When asked if wife and podcast co-host Rosie Ramsey takes part, the Taskmaster alum added: “Weirdly, I started doing it before we kind of made waves with the podcast. [Rosie] sits at home and watches it with the kids which is always really nice. There's not many things that I do that my children can watch.”

On how important shows like Children In Need are, Chris shared: “It's such a huge TV moment Children In Need. I know what's hard for everyone at the moment with the cost of living and stuff. But that also means that the people that we help through Children In Need, they need our help. They need it more than ever this year.”

Children In Need appeal night airs tonight (Friday 14th November) at 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
