Surprise! Singer superstar Taylor Swift popped up unannounced at The 1975‘s gig at The O2 in London and gave a live debut of Anti-Hero from her new album Midnights, plus an acoustic cover of The City.

The pop star made her surprise entrance and shocked fans at the end of Matty Healy and crew's At Their Very Best show and wowed crowds with her performance of new music.

Arriving onstage through a side door, it read: "Guest starring… Taylor Swift."

The star glided onto stage and asked the audience if it was 'OK' to sing? She said: "I was thinking of doing one I never played live before.”

She asked the audience: “Are you having a nice Thursday night?” and agreed with them: “Same.”

As she made her exit, the 1975 performed If You’re Too Shy (Left Me Know).

Healy joked during the gig about previously kissing fans, on request, during Somebody Else, and said: "I’m not kissing anyone in front of Taylor Swift. In front of the queen? Have some respect."

Healy's mum, Loose Women's Denise Welch watched on proudly as his band performed and shared a picture with superstar Swift from backstage, including a beaming Florence Welch in the background.

Posting a picture on Instagram, Welch wrote: "Oh what a night at a sold out O2. So proud I can't even begin!!"

The presenter was also pictured with Frankie Bridge and Charli XCX.
