Coldplay have revealed that they are working in the studio, and have shared their current favourite artists and songs with fans.

The exciting news came via Twitter, where the band posted an update listing a bunch of songs that are floating their boat at the moment.

The post reads: “Hello everybody I hope you’re all doing really well. Here are some things I Love at the moment.”

At the end of the list, the post simply says: “We are in the studio. We send you all so much love.”

The list of songs and artists that the band are into at the moment included The 1975, with their tune Looking For Somebody (To Love), and Hide & Seek by Stormzy.

Also on the list is American singer-songwriter, record producer and actress, Erykah Badu, who appears twice: firstly with BTS star RM on the track Yun, and secondly for her own song, Tyrone, which was the lead-single from her 1997 live album.

The list also features Dublin-based rock band Inhaler, whose vocalist and guitarist Elijah Hewson is the son of none other than legendary U2 frontman Bono. Berlin/Tokyo musician and composer Kyoka is also included in the artists that Coldplay are currently digging.

News of Coldplay being back in the studio comes after the band announced that they’ll be hitting in the UK and Europe across May, June and July 2023, with gigs happening in Manchester and Cardiff as part of their massive Music Of The Spheres world tour.

The awarding-winning group have already played a heap of gigs as part of the tour, including a run of sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium this year.

During that time singer Chris Martin designed a tattoo for a fan, while the band duetted with Craig David, Stormzy, Alan Partridge (!) and Natalie Imbruglia.
