Former The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft will hit the stage for another festival performance this summer.

He’s just announced his headlining gig at the Crystal Palace Bowl for South Facing Festival in August.

The social media post with the festival poster teased that he’ll be joined by some ‘special guests’ but has yet to confirm who they might be.

It’ll be the second South Facing Festival ever after launching only last year, and will host a number of artists including London Grammar, Jungle and Bombay Bicycle Club.

In the inaugural event last year, the likes of Supergrass, The Streets and Dizzee Rascal performed.

The exciting festival news comes after Richard revealed he'd be up for writing songs for pop princesses Rihanna and Adele.

He told the Daily Star‘s Wired column: “A big thing I want to do is write for other people. I want to know who writes for Rihanna and get an introduction.”

He continued: “Adele would be great, but there’s big competition there. I like big hits. I write big melodies and big choruses.

“I like singers where you know the chorus will be heard by billions of people.”

The prolific frontman also said he'd be keen to hook up with his former Oasis pal too. He shared: “I’d love to write a song with Liam. If he’s up for it, I’m up for it.

“I’ve got loads of ideas for what me and Liam could do and I’d love it if we had a bit more time to make it happen.”

South Facing Festival runs between 29th July and August 21 - Richard will perform on 6th August. Tickets go on sale on Friday (18th March) here
