Geordie singer-songwriter Sam Fender is heading to the seaside in May!

The artist has added a new date to his 2022 tour, and the newly-announced show will see him make his first ever appearance in Scarborough.

Fender, whose second album, Seventeen Going Under, was released last year to critical acclaim, will take to the stage at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Friday, May 27th, where he will play to a whopping crowd of 8,000 fans.

Sharing the news of the North Yorkshire gig, the artist took to Twitter this morning (7th March), to exclaim his excitement: “Our first ever show in Scarborough on the north east coast. Can’t wait for this!!” he wrote.

If you’d like to be beside the seaside with Sam Fender this May, then tickets for the Scarborough Open Air Theatre gig go on general sale at 9am this Friday, 11th March.

However, if you sign-up before 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday 8th March), then pre-sale tickets will be on sale from 9am on Wednesday 9th March.

The musician’s upcoming arena tour kicks off later this month in Nottingham, and will see him travel all around the UK. In April, a couple of nights in London will be followed by two massive homecoming shows at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena.

The Scarborough show in May follows some European dates and precedes four nights supporting The Killers in London and Dublin, after which, he has another massive outdoor headline show back in the capital.

The singer-songwriter’s biggest headline performance to date will take place at London’s Finsbury Park in July. And that’s not all, he is also set to appear at some festivals, including TRNSMT, Tramlines, and Glastonbury

Last week, Fender performed at the NME Awards, where he also won Best Album By a UK Artist for Seventeen Going Under, and Best Album in the World.
