Fresh off the back of her album announcement, the I’m With You singer is back with even more new music.

Following the release of her first single in three years, Bite Me, Avril’s now unveiled her new head-banger bop Love It When You Hate Me (three guesses as to what it’s about).

The pop-punk break-up track features a rapped verse by Blackbear, who is only one of numerous collaborations Avril has lined up for her upcoming album Love Sux, out on 25th February.

The follow-up to 2019’s Head Above Water will feature the likes of Machine Gun Kelly and Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, with drummer Travis Barker also lending a hand.

Earlier this week, we reported that Avril had announced the release date for her next musical outing.

Lavigne previously said of her upcoming new album: “I wanted to make sure I wrote music that people could relate to. It’s about valuing yourself and knowing you’re enough. It’s really a love letter to women.”

Fittingly, considering the fingerprint that both Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus have on Love Sux, she also said that it is influenced by bands such as Blink-182. “I really went back to what sounds I originally was influenced by at the beginning of my career,” she said.

“To the core, I’m a kid from a small town who listened to bands like Blink-182 and Green Day and NOFX in high school, and I tapped into that.”

She added: “I was just like, ‘Let's make a pop-punk record.’"

If you’re ready to dust off your converse and checkered sweatbands, you’ll be pleased to hear Avril will be hitting the road to support her huge comeback in the pop-punk scene.

She will be playing some of her classic tunes and new material at the O2 Apollo in Manchester on 25th March, followed by three nights at the O2 Academy Brixton, from the 27th to the 29th March.
