Six long years since her last release, Adele’s new single has finally landed. Premiering at midnight on Friday morning across all streaming services, Easy On Me has already been played millions of times, with the singer’s friends and peers among those that have been giving the tune a spin.

The new song, which had been played over 23 million times on YouTube alone by lunchtime on the day of its release (15th October), is the first taste of the North London singer's new album. Entitled 30, the LP deals with the divorce from her husband.

Easy On Me Me sees Adele explaining her decision to leave her marriage, while asking her son and ex for understanding.

Celebs have been reacting to the release on social media.

Rylan Clark, who is reportedly set to divorce his husband Dan Neal, took to Twitter to joke: “Wish Adele would stop writing about me tbf.”

Elsewhere, on his Instagram Stories, rapper Drake said: “One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single.”

Meanwhile, singer Normani tweeted: “ADELE oh ADELE i love uuuuuuuuuu,”

Clueless star Alicia Silverstone posted a video of herself grabbing loads of bottles of booze, with the caption: “Go easy on me @Adele… you always make me cry…”

Meanwhile, Adele's non-celeb fans have also been sharing their reactions across social media. One person said: “The Queen has returned and her vocals are still majestic.”

Another added: “Already listened to the song maybe 10 times yet today, no need to say I love it.”

Someone else commented: “I actually like that Adele consistently serves piano ballads that you can cry to. She knows her lane and does very well in it.”

If you haven’t yet heard the new single, and would like to formulate your own opinion, then here it is for your consideration:

Adele's fourth album, 30, will be released on 19th November.
