It’s all happening! If you’re a fan of Cameron Crowe’s rock masterpiece (and let’s face it, who isn’t?), then your ears are in for a treat, as a deluxe box set of the soundtrack is being released and it contains... wait for it... 102 tracks! Yes, you read that right, 102 tracks.

The film, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, is much loved for its incredible music, and this reissue marks the first time all of the movie’s songs will be in one place. The tracklist includes the likes of The Beach Boys, The Who, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Led Zeppelin, and Fleetwood Mac. It will also feature all of Stillwater’s songs (Stillwater, of course, being the fictional group in the movie), which were written by Crowe, Nancy Wilson, and the legendary Peter Frampton. Stillwater’s songs include that absolute banger, Fever Dog.

Peppered between the tracks will be well-known lines from the film, including Zooey Deschanel’s, “One day, you’ll be cool.”

As well as all of this aural enjoyment, the box set also contains collectibles, including a 40-page photo book, Lester Bang’s Creem business card, backstage passes, replica ticket stubs, and William Miller’s Rolling Stone cover story on Stillwater.

A digital version of the boxset is on streaming services now, while collectors might want to get hold of a 13-disc box set, two six-LP editions - one on black vinyl, the other with coloured vinyl discs.

There’s also a five-CD super deluxe set, which includes 102 tracks, 36 of them previously unreleased songs; a separate 12-inch vinyl EP with all six of Stillwater’s songs; a Record Store Day exclusive with the seven original demos of the Stillwater songs, five performed by Wilson the other two by Frampton; a two-LP vinyl version of the original soundtrack album; and a two-CD deluxe edition of the original soundtrack.

If all this Almost Famous-related talk is making you want to rewatch the actual film, you’ll be happy to know that the movie is also being released on 4K Ultra HD for the first time, as well as on limited-edition Blu-ray.

Not to be outdone by the soundtrack’s extras, the film’s re-release will include a bunch of bonuses as well, including the original theatrical cut, a digital download, and the Bootleg cut. There will also be a new interview with Crowe, extended scenes, rock-school sessions, and a look at the casting and costumes.

In a statement, Cameron Crowe said, “We are extremely proud to revisit Almost Famous with a very special bounty of goodness. For the first time, we’ve created a deluxe soundtrack that features nearly every song from the film, along with Nancy Wilson’s wonderfully evocative score.

“We’re also thrilled to finally preserve both versions of the film, along with a collection of rare new bonus features, on these beautiful new 4K and Blu-ray releases as part of Paramount Presents. Long live physical media!”
