Taylor Swift: the musical? It could be a reality after the star has filed paperwork to trademark a phrase.

Fans would no doubt sell out a show instantly, but we'll have to wait and see whether anything will emerge or if Taylor is just protecting the phrase.

The paperwork has been submitted to trademark the phrase, Female Rage: The Musical.

Taylor's company, TAS Rights Management, has filed the trademark application, in the wake of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The documentation states that Taylor wants to use the trademarked phrase for purposes such as "downloadable electronic sheet music, musical sound recordings, audio recordings featuring music and musical entertainment, digital publications, books, and merchandise."

She first used the phrase on Sunday in an Instagram post.

Taylor was talking about the new section of The Eras Tour that features the new songs from her album The Tortured Poets Department.

"This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical," she wrote.

The tour has been revamped to fit in songs from the new record.

The new setlist was debuted during her four shows at La Défense Arena in Paris last week.

"I'm so thankful that it was you we got to show this to you for the first time because you gave us so much excitement, passion, and love. I'm SO fired up to play this for every crowd on the tour," she added.

It hasn't gone down well with everyone though, with many fans wishing to see the same setlist that was featured in the cinematic version of the Eras tour, instead of the new songs.
