Adele has been forced to “pause” her Las Vegas residency next month, and has taken to social media to explain why.

The singer shared a statement on Instagram, apologising to fans for the "inconvenience” and revealing that she has not completely recovered after falling ill at the end of the last leg of her Weekends With Adele residency. She said she is now “sick again” which has “taken a toll” on her voice.

Explaining that doctors have ordered her to rest, which means she has had to reschedule the upcoming shows over five weekends at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she said: “I love you, I’ll miss you like mad and I’m sorry for the inconvenience x”

The statement reads: “Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break.

"I hadn't quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again, and unfortunately it's all taken a toll on my voice.”

Adele continued: “And so on doctors' orders, I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date.

“We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap.”

The affected dates are Adele 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd and 29th and 30th March.

This is the second time the Grammy-winning artist has had to postpone her residency. Previous shows were moved after her crew came down with COVID in 2022.

Aside from the postponed March shows, Adele has five more weekends lined up in Las Vegas in May and June, and she recently revealed that she will be performing four surprise European shows in August 2024.

The singer-songwriter will be performing four nights in Munich, Germany on Friday 2nd August, Saturday 3rd August, Friday 9th August and Saturday 10th August.
