Suede took to The Top of The Tower for the very first Virgin Radio Sunset Session on Wednesday (7th December), and what a treat it was!

While in front of a live audience, the Brit-pop icons performed fresh music taken from their new album, Autofiction, including She Still Leads Me On and The Only Way I Can Love You.

Of course, no live session would be complete without a classic track, and they also brought out Beautiful Ones, their top 10 hit from 1996.

Autofiction, the group’s ninth album, came out back in September. Explaining the record’s title, Brett previously told The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky: “It’s a literary genre. It’s part-memoir and part-fiction. It struck me that all art is autofiction to one degree or another. Nothing’s absolute truth or absolute fantasy. There’s fantasy within truth and truth within fantasy.” 

The frontman added: “Sometimes I’m using characterisation to explore truths and sometimes it’s much more from the diary.”

The Top of the Tower isn't the only performance stop for the group, who will be hitting the road early next year in support of their new album.

At the end of their previously-announced run of shows in March 2023, the band will also play Bristol, Manchester and Leeds.

The legendary indie band will take to the stage at the O2 Academy Bristol on 28th March, after which they will head to Manchester’s Albert Hall the next evening. Then, they will play the O2 Academy Leeds on 30th March.
