TikTok is the home for handy tips and tricks to make life easier, and if you're going on holiday you need to try this one.

Users of the video sharing app have come up with a hack to cut costs when it comes to flying.

Many airlines have bumped up their excess luggage fees, with the likes of Ryanair charging a whopping £11 per kg overweight on check-in luggage. Elsewhere, British Airways charge a painful £65 per overweight bag.

TikToker Anya Iakovlieva (@nolimitua) posted a video of her stuffing clothes inside a pillowcase and bringing it onto a flight.

She wrote: "The best travel hack ever!!! 'Pillow' flies for free," and it has since had 1.3m likes and over 25m views.

Others have tried putting extra clothes inside travel neck pillows.

Chelsea Dickenson (@cheapholidayexpert) said a travel neck pillow is "lower risk option" over a traditional pillow.

Even flight attendants are getting in on the act, with Kat Kamalani (@katkamalani) saying: "This is seriously a game changer to avoid those fees for overweight bags."

One person put it to the test with her travel neck pillow: "I'm going to Vegas so ya girl needs options!".

She said it was a success: "On my way to Vegas and on the way back I did not have to pay with my travel pillow and my backpack.

Some commenters are cross that the tip has gone viral as they now fear that airlines will catch on and start checking pillows.

Have you ever tried this?
