Ahead of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday (June 3), The Sex Pistols have released a commemorative coin.

Dubbed the ‘Pistol Mint Commemorative Coin’, it fatures artist Jamie Reid’s Union Jack flag design on the front.

On the back is a high-quality decal of the Queen with a lip piercing.

The band recently re-released 'God Save The Queen'.

It was originally released around the time of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in the summer of ’77.

The song was banned at the time, and reached Number Two on the UK’s singles chart despite this.

The commemorative coin is available here until the end of June.

This coin comes in a cushioned sapphire velvet presentation box with the front face design embossed in silver.

Each coin purchase also comes with an NFT that can be redeemed via The Pistol Mint.

The NFT features several designs assigned randomly upon minting.

John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) insisted recently that he is “actually really, really proud of the Queen for surviving and doing so well”.

“I’ve got to tell the world this. Everyone presumes that I’m against the royal family as human beings, I’m not,” Lydon said. “I’m actually really, really proud of the Queen for surviving and doing so well.

“I applaud her for that, and that’s a fantastic achievement. I’m not a curmudgeon about that.”

A new series about the band is coming to Disney Plus soon.

Pistol premieres on May 31.

Virgin Radio talked to stars Maisie Williams and Thomas Brodie-Sangster at the premiere.
