Sound too good to be true?

After all, who doesn't love free wine!

Aldi is giving three lucky people the chance to help them choose their new wine range.

If successful, you'll be invited along to Aldi HQ’s taste kitchens to taste test "never been sipped" wines.

Fancy AND exclusive!

You'll receive coaching from the "Mistress of Wine", Sam Caporn MW.

The three winners will assist Aldi’s expert buyers to decide wines will feature in a new range coming out later this year.

Aldi was voted the best supermarket wine retailer for 2021.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK said: “What shoppers want, and need are our top priority.

“We’ve always been keen to hear feedback from our wine-loving customers about what they want to see our on shelves.

“It helps the wine buying team shape the wine ranges into what they are: high quality, not to mention delicious wines that shoppers want to drink – all at unbelievable prices.”

Over the past year, the Aldi wine range has encompassed more unexpected premium wines than ever before, from countries as far reaching as China to Canada.

Julie added: “Our Aldi Wine Club, where we get shoppers to provide honest reviews, has run for a number of years – and this year we wanted to build on it and take consumer involvement a step further through our tasting sessions.

“It’s a very exciting proposition for us and an amazing opportunity for an Aldi wine-lover to see their favourite wine stocked on our shelves this year!”

The winners will then be sent a selection of the final wines for free.

Sam says these are the top tips for the best wine drinking experience: "Keep the wine you plan to taste somewhere that has a fairly constant, cool temperature (big temperature fluctuations are bad for wine so above the oven for example is a big no-no)," she says.

"It may seem pretentious to smell wine, but it’s a really important step of the tasting process. Smelling wine releases the aromas and helps you to identify different flavours that your tongue might not pick up. Gently swirl the glass just before to make it easier to pick up on your favourite wine flavours.

“Don't serve your whites or pinks too cold as that makes them harder to smell. As the wine warms up in the glass you will find the wine changes slightly and the aromas become more distinct.”
