They're not just for keeping your sarnies fresh, after all.

Forget scrubbing your shower for hours on end, there's a trick to get them gleaming in no time at all.

Chances are, you already have these items in your kitchen cupboards too.

The trick will help to get rid of hard water and limescale build-ups on your shower head.

It turns out that all you need for a sparkling shine is a sandwich bag, white vinegar and a hairband or elastic band.

Fill the sandwich bag with white vinegar, then secure it to the head of the shower with a hairband or elastic band.

Make sure it's firmly in place, and then leave it on for a minimum of two hours or overnight for a really deep clean.

The vinegar works to break down the limescale and deposits, making them easy to wipe off and clean.

If the limescale is proving to be stubborn, you can also add a small amount of baking soda.

Adding this in will make the mixure fizz for an extra deep clean.

It also works on kitchen taps as well as showers, and bath taps too.

If your taps are too fiddly to apply the sandwich bag to, you can simply use some strong kitchen towels and soak them in vinegar.

Wrap the towels around, and it will have the same impact.
