After the battle of the caterpillar cakes earlier this year, the supermarket is entertaining fans with their quips once more.

They went viral at the start of 2021 when M&S took legal action against Aldi for their Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake, saying it resembled their iconic Colin cake.

Fans were overjoyed by the Twitter exchanges that followed.

Remember these?

Now it's emerged M&S is taking further action over a "copycat" gin, and the Aldi team are at it again.

Their cheeky tweets are rapidly going viral again, clocking up thousands of views.

One referred to the previous caterpillar row.

Other tweets included: "We're... GINNOCENT", "We Colin our lawyers #round2", and "opens folder of funny tweets we didn't use last time"

Fans have been chuckling at the witty tweets, sharing them in their thousands.

One fan replied: "Might want to counter claim, I saw them selling carrots today they looked orange and carroty like yours"

Others loved the Aldi Christmas advert that showed Cuthbert being taken away in handcuffs in the background.

"We are not worthy of Aldi's social media team. They are GIN-credible" praised one.

"Whoever manages their Twitter needs a payrise ASAP" insisted another.

"To have one ounce of the sass of Aldi’s social media team!" added one fan.

At least they can see the funny side.
