Parenting blogger Csilla Love recently shared her top tips on TikTok for getting your kids out of the house on time.

With kids going back to school this month, this parenting coach and mum of two’s six tips for getting out of the house on time with kids are more useful than ever. Keep reading to hear her expert advice.

Allow 15-30 minutes extra time in the morning

Leaving some wiggle room in your morning routine will help take some stress out of your day. Those extra minutes will help account for any unexpected obstacles that come up so often when dealing with small kids.

Make a playlist for time management

Packing bags, laying out clothes, and prepping school lunches the night before will help keep your morning smooth sailing.

Do as much as you can the night before

Csilla suggests creating a morning playlist to give time warnings and help keep yourself on schedule. Not only is this a great time management tool, but it will help get you and the kids energised for your day ahead.

Use checklists to help your kids plan their morning

Creating a checklist with your children is a great way to help with managing tasks. Make a list of tasks they can check off as they go, making sure no steps are missed. This will also help them develop independence, meaning less stress for mum in the mornings.

Be consistent and clear.

Csilla’s next tip is to be clear with your expectations and remain consistent. This tip probably applies to any area of parenting, but is especially helpful with your morning routine.

Don’t forget emotional reassurance

New routines can be stressful for young kids, so always make sure to check in with how your little ones are feeling and if they’re overwhelmed by the new systems you’re putting in place. In Csilla’s words, “If things get out of hand - slow down and give love, hugs and reassurance.”
