If you like it when a little chocolate is left on your pillow during your stay in a hotel, then you are going to seriously love what a hotel in York has come up with!
Clementine’s Townhouse Hotel, which offers 4-star boutique accommodation, has designed a room that is based on chocolate oranges. On the hotel’s Facebook page they say: “For chocolate lovers everywhere, we have just launched our brand new Chocolate Orange bedroom at Clementine's Townhouse. Complete with a 4-poster bed, jacuzzi bath for two and, of course, chocolate. It's the perfect place to enjoy a weekend of indulgence in York.”
Anyone staying in the Clementine's Chocolate Orange Room can enjoy chocolate orange-themed gifts from the moment they arrive, such as a Chocolate Orange Daiquiri either at the bar or in their room. Anyone who fancies a different chocolatey drink could try an After Eight Mojito which you can also order direct to your room, created by Clementine's in-house mixologist.
The Chocolate Orange Room isn’t the only space in the hotel to be named after local confectionary. There is also The Tooty Frootie, The Matchmaker, The Yorkie, and The Fruit Pastille! The rooms come with amenities such as free WiFi, complimentary luxury toiletries, a flat screen TV, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Elsewhere in the luxury hotel, which is set in an historic townhouse in the city centre, the confectionery theme continues with the Rowntree Suite and the After Eight Suite.
You can find out more about the rooms at Clementine’s Townhouse Hotel by visiting their website.
Earlier this year, another food-related hotel experience was made possible, when the pop-up House of Harland in Shoreditch offered a KFC-themed stay. Open for just 11 days (in celebration of the 11 herbs and spices that KFC use in their recipes) in August, the rooms were entirely KFC-themed, with decor that paid tribute to the Colonel, and included a ‘Press For Chicken’ button which saw fried chicken brought directly to guests’ doors!
Let’s hope this is the start of a trend!
