Get you marmalade sandwiches ready because a large-scale Paddington Bear interactive experience is making its way to London this year.

The multi-sensory show will arrive in County Hall on the Southbank, taking up 26,000 square feet later this year and will feature “ground-breaking design, live performance and video to capture the hearts of the entire family”, according to organisers.

Speaking more about the experience, they said: “Get ready to be thrown into the thick of the action as you embark on a mission to help Paddington and the Brown family prepare for a very special day.

“Step into the world of Paddington and become immersed in some of the most iconic locations, culminating in a Windsor Gardens extravaganza.”

It looks like the beloved children’s book character will be in good hands as well, as The Paddington Bear Experience has been written by Katie Lyons, the creator of Peaky Blinders: The Rise and designed by Rebecca Brower, who was behind Doctor Who: Time Fracture.

The duffle coat-wearing bear has become quite popular again in recent years following the live-action feature film, Paddington, in 2014 and its sequel three years later starring Ben Whishaw.

Paddington also made an appearance at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in a memorable sketch that saw him attend Buckingham Palace for afternoon tea, in which the late monarch produced a marmalade sandwich from her handbag.

It captured the hearts of the nation, so much so that following the Queen’s death in September 2022, mourners left Paddington teddy bears and marmalade sandwiches in the floral tributes outside the royal residence.

An exact date for the Paddington Bear Experience has not yet been announced but those wishing to get their hands on tickets can sign up for priority access for when they are released.
