Get ready to head back into the wilderness, because season two of Yellowjackets is on its way. And to prepare us for the further madness and horror that is set to befall the high school football team, a new trailer has been released.

The second season is set to continue where season one left off, with the narrative timeline being split between the past - in which the school girls are stuck deep in the Ontario woods following a plane crash - and the present - where the survivors are still dealing with the consequences of everything that went down when they were lost.

And, as the trailer shows (and as you will have already seen in season one), things got very Lord of the Flies in those woods in 1996, as the girls went from talented footballers to warring, cannibalistic clans.

The first full-length trailer shows - to the strains of Florence + the Machine’s moody cover of No Doubt’s Just a Girl - that we’re in for plenty more shocks for the teens, played by the likes of Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Courtney Eaton, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Liv Hewson, do anything they can to survive in the snow.

The clip also shows that Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis and The Last of Us star Melanie Lynskey are back as the adult survivors.

In the trailer, the latter’s character is confronted by her daughter, who says; “You’re a murderer?”

To which she replies: “No! No, no, no, no, no. Mmm… I mean… yes.”

The new series will also feature Lauren Ambrose and Simone Kessell as adult Van and adult Lottie respectively. Elijah Wood is a season-long guest star too, in the modern-day timeline.

“Everybody’s hiding something,” his character says.

Yellowjackets season two is set to premiere on Paramount+ on 24th March.
