Race Across The World fans finally know when they can jet-set alongside a new set of adventurers in series three of the hugely popular series.

The BBC have confirmed the new series the hit competition will return with a nine-part run on Wednesday 22nd March at 9pm, on BBC One and iPlayer.

The broadcaster also released another first-look at the brand new cast, which includes best friends Cathie and Tricia, brothers Marc and Michael, husband and wife Zainib and Mobeen and two father and daughter duos Kevin and Claudia and Ladi and Monique.

In this instalment, five pairs of hopeful travellers will race across Canada, starting at the edge of the Pacific Ocean in Vancouver and racing over 16,000 kilometres across six time zones to finish on the Atlantic Coast of North America’s most easterly city- St John’s Newfoundland.

The pairs will not be able to use air travel or any benefits of modern life, including phones or credit cards, as they navigate through the incredible Canadian wilderness. Instead, they must rely only on their own skills, the kindness of strangers and the cash equivalent of a plane journey to their final destination.

First over the finish line will win a cash prize of £20,000.

It has been three years since the previous season of the BAFTA-winning show aired, so it’s safe to say fans are excited for it to return.

In the last instalment, five teams were tasked with travelling across South America starting in Mexico City and ending in Ushuaia in Argentina.

While we’re thrilled to get a new release date for three, there’s no word just yet on a fourth series, or if there will be the much-discussed celebrity edition.

Race Across The World series three will return on Wednesday 22nd March at 9pm, on BBC One and iPlayer. Season two is currently available on BBC iPlayer.
