Rise and Fall: New show from the makers of The Traitors coming to Channel 4

If you’re a fan of The Traitors, then you’ll be interested to learn that the people behind it are making a new Channel 4 series.

Called Rise and Fall, the new programme by Studio Lambert and Motion Content Group is a game about what it takes to get to the top - how to win power, how to keep hold of it and how to use it to influence others.

Rise and Fall will feature 16 ordinary British people of different age-groups and from all walks of life. Although they begin the game as equals, they soon find themselves either in a position of power as a Ruler, or as part of the powerless as a Grafter. 

Are you getting Traitor and Faithful vibes from this? 

As explained by Channel 4, the Rulers will live in an “opulent” penthouse, while the Grafters must survive in basic conditions in the basement.

Mirroring the real world, those in power will be responsible for making decisions that affect the Grafters.

The format will see the Grafters take on a series of gruelling games and challenges in order to build a cash prize fund… that only the Rulers can win! This means that the Rulers need to encourage the Grafters to work harder in order to build up that cash, but they might find themselves toppled from power if they push them too hard.

Any of the contestants can rise to a position of power and, equally, anyone can fall. However, at the end of the game, only one Ruler can win the prize fund. 

The show will be presented by Greg James, who said in a statement: “I’ve been waiting a long time for a show like this to come along that I can get stuck into and be the ringleader of. It’s an amazingly mad idea and the contestants are going to make some incredible TV. It’s very exciting to launch something brand new on Channel 4 and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Let the power struggle begin…”

There is no confirmed date that Rise and Fall will arrive, other than that it is “Coming soon 👀” to Channel 4 and All 4.
