Pedro Pascal has taken to social media to offer his support for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Mandalorian star, who has a transgender sister called Lux, posted a collection of pictures of rainbow and transgender flags on 5th March. The caption reads: “The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind. #LGBTQIA”

The words are taken from Bob Dylan’s classic song Blowin’ in the Wind. The track, which was released in 1963, is a protest anthem of the civil rights movement.

The Instagram post comes in the wake of a wave of anti-transgender legislation and the banning of drag shows in the United States.

Pascal’s The Last of Us co-star Bella Ramsey reacted to the post by writing: “ Love love love,” and sharing flag emojis: “🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️”.

Bella plays Ellie in the hit Sky drama, and recently opened up about how being non-binary has helped her get into the character.

Other peers and fans of Pascal were quick to show their support in the comments. Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot also shared some emojis: “🙌❤️🙌”.

West Side Story star Rachel Zegler did something similar, with a whole lot of heart emojis: “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”.

One fan wrote: “From a mom of a trans kid, thank you! We love you Pedro 🏳️‍⚧️ xxoo”

Someone else added: “Being a trans man, it makes me very happy to know that an actor I admire supports my existence. Thank you, pedrito ❤️

The Instagram post coincided with the final day of WorldPride, which this year took place in Sydney from February 17th and March 5th. Pascal also shared a clip on his Instagram stories of comedian and political commentator, Jon Stewart, taking a GOP lawmaker to task.

There are now two episodes left in the first season of The Last of Us, with the penultimate instalment available today, 6th March.
