As Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania lands in UK cinemas, the stars of the film assembled at the UK premiere last night, and virginradio.co.uk was there to talk to them.

Ahead of the film hitting cinemas today (17th February), the UK premiere was held at BFI IMAX Waterloo yesterday, with Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Kathryn Newton, Jonathan Majors, and director Peynton Reed in attendance, as well as legendary Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The Marvel film sees Paul Rudd return as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, while Evangeline plays his superhero partner Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp, as they head off to explore the Quantum Realm. From the red carpet last night, Rudd exclusively told virginradio.co.uk that his character is “gonna go up against somebody that's pretty big and bad.”

Explaining that the character is in a “pretty good space”, the actor told us: “He's defeated Thanos. All that stuff is in the past. He's now got time. He's getting to spend some quality time with his daughter, his family. He's written a book. He's taken a little bit of a victory lap, but doesn't last very long. And then he has to go up against Kang the Conqueror, who is no joke.”

The former Friends star continued: “This movie is kicking off Phase Five. And really what we're doing is introducing this character Kang the Conqueror, who's a huge villain, and it's going to play a very important part in the next several Marvel films. I think he might even be more powerful than Thanos.”

When we asked whether he would be interested in seeing a spin-off solo film about The Wasp, Rudd told us: “Absolutely. Of course.”

Kathryn Newton and Evangeline Lilly, who plays The Wasp, joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch this week. to talk about the new Marvel film.
