With The Masked Singer back on screens, celeb panellist Davina McCall has revealed which presenters she’d love to sit next to.

The telly host currently judges alongside Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Rita Ora, while Joel Dommett hosts the highly creative competition.

While chatting to OK! Magazine, Davina was asked who she’d want on her dream Masked Singer panel, and a certain Geordie presenting duo made the cut.

She explained: “It’s got to be someone who gets the madness of it. We had Stephen Mulhern on the new series and he was joyous, because he just kept going, ‘What is going on? This is the weirdest programme I have ever worked on!’ I think Ant and Dec would find it hilarious, so they would be great."

The series, which returned on New Year’s Day, gets 12 celebrities to perform musical acts while dressed up as a number of colourful creatures.

The likes of Fawn, Jacket Potato, Piece Of Cake, Pigeon, Rhino, Rubbish, Jellyfish, Knitting, Otter, Phoenix will hit the stage, while new duo Cat & Mouse will join this year.

Footballing star Chris Kamara was the first to be unmasked in the new series, having tried his best to remain incognito as Ghost. Despite his best efforts, and a Scottish accent, he was the first star to be rumbled while in disguise.

Speaking in December about the 2023 Masked Singer series, Davina outlined two celebrity performers who had her in tears

Joined by the 'naughty' Jonathan Ross, 'the most hilarious’ Rita Ora and the 'nicest' Mo Gilligan, she said about being reduced to tears: "Jellyfish is an extraordinary performer and has made us all feel pretty emotional."

Talking about another ‘massive, humble and adorable’ character, she said: "Rhino, as well, has been particularly emotive. There are people who completely draw you in."

Meanwhile, fellow judge Rita said about the secret celebs upping their singing game: "I think now they’ve seen the show they’re like, 'What can I do that hasn’t been done before, and how far can I take it?' They are going further than ever before."

Last year's show crowned pop star Natalie Imbruglia as winner Panda beating singer Charlotte Church as Mushroom and Westlife's Mark Feehily as Robobunny.

The Masked Singer 2023 continues on Saturday 7th January at 7pm on ITV1.
