Fans were excited by the news Maya Jama will be hosting Love Island and now we have a start date.

It's sooner than you might think, too!

We only have to wait five more weeks before the new series of Love Island.

It will be hosted in South Africa, and put this in the diary for a start date on Monday, 16 January.

This is also Blue Monday - coincidentally or otherwise.

A source told The Sun: "Love Island bosses have planned for the show to start on Blue Monday - which is bound to give fans a massive lift on such a gloomy day.

“This year’s contestants will be flown out to South Africa earlier in January and will start filming for the first episode the day before.

“The grand finale will take place eight weeks later on March 13."

Reports say the villa in South Africa villa is "absolutely amazing".

The source also says Maya Jama is "raring to go" and the next batch of singletons are "looking to be the sexiest ever."

Fans are obsessed with the winners of the most recent series, the inimitable Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti.

The pair won the vote by a landslide, and viewers will be hoping for more of the same come January with this new series.

Runners-up Gemma Owen and Luca Bish called time on their relationship just after three months.

Who will be the next successful couple to come out of the series?

Lewis Capaldi's ex-girlfriend featured on the last winter series of Love Island.
