Nicolas Hoult has opened up about working with Ralph Fiennes in their new dark comedy-horror flick, The Menu.

The About A Boy actor stars alongside Ralph and Anya Taylor-Joy in the creepy caper, centred around a secluded fine dining experience from hell.

Harry Potter actor Ralph plays celebrity chef Julian Slowik, who entices a group of foodies to the exclusive restaurant on a remote island, where they quickly learn all is not what it seems.

It turns out working with an actor known for his intensely villainous roles does come with a slight level of fear, according to Nicolas.

Speaking to virginradio.co.uk at the UK premiere earlier this month, Nicolas said he was “absolutely terrified” of working with such a big name.

He added: “At first I was like, this is an all time great, but then actually, once you get to work with him a little bit, he's very generous as an actor  and fun to be around.”

When it comes to working with Anya, things were a bit more relaxed for the Mad Max star.

Nicolas explained: “It was really fun developing these characters because they kind of begin as what seems like a kind of normal couple, and then you get a few clues along the way that perhaps things lurking beneath the surface. She's such a wonderful actress to kind of develop that with, with a lot of fun.”

The Menu is 'a darkly comedic psychological thriller set in the world of eccentric culinary culture, centering on a young couple (Taylor-Joy and Hoult) who visit an exclusive restaurant on a remote island where an acclaimed chef (Fiennes) has prepared a lavish tasting menu, with some shocking surprises', according to Searchlight Pictures.

Directed by Mark Mylod (Succession) with screenwriter Will Tracy, the script has been co-written by Seth Reiss (Late Night With Seth Meyers) with Anchorman director Adam McKay and Betsy Koch producing.

Speaking of Ralph, the Harry Potter star recently confirmed he would be keen on reprising his role as Lord Voldemort.

The Menu is out in cinemas now.
