The stars assembled on the red carpet in London for the UK premiere of upcoming movie The Menu last night (9th November), and virginradio.co.uk was there to speak to them.

The Menu is directed by Mark Mylod, and stars Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult. It sees a couple travel to a remote island to eat at an exclusive restaurant run by celebrity chef, Slowik (Fiennes), who has prepared a lavish menu where food is treated as conceptual art. However, his approach to cuisine has some shocking surprises for the wealthy guests.

Safe to say that nobody will forget the meal he has prepared - and some may not survive.

We took the opportunity to chat to Nicolas at the BFI Southbank Riverfront last night. As well as speaking about The Menu, we also asked him about the film in which he made his breakthrough appearance as a child, About A Boy. The movie, which also starred Hugh Grant, celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.

Speaking exclusively to virginradio.co.uk about the film being two decades old, Nicholas said: “Yeah it's wild, I guess it feels kind of a long time ago now. But I think you know, the film still seems to have a place in people's hearts and I still love it. So that makes me happy.”

When asked whether he would revisit the film for a sequel, he told us: “I don't know."

He added: “Unless there's a good story to tell, don't revisit things, if you can help it.

“If there's a good idea, then maybe.”

Whilst it therefore sounds as though an About a Boy sequel might not be on the cards anytime soon, we can at least see the former Skins star in The Menu later this month. Check out the trailer here:

We also spoke to Anya Taylor-Joy on the red carpet last night, about working with Ralph Fiennes. Read all about it.

The Menu arrives in cinemas on 18th November.
