Adrian Dunbar isn’t done with Line of Duty, or the elusive H, just yet.

The Ted Hastings actor has dropped a major bombshell a year after Line of Duty came to an end, and revealed that the identity of H still remains a mystery.

Spoilers ahead if you haven’t caught up!

In series six of the BBC crime drama, which aired in 2021, the mastermind behind the network of police corruption turned out to be Ian Buckells (played by Nigel Boyle), and his unveiling ended up leaving some fans unsatisfied with the finale.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Adrian revealed not only is the true H still out there, but there might also be another chance for AC-12 to catch them.

He told the publication: “He’s not H. We just got the guy we could actually pin a charge on. We didn’t get H, we got Buckells, the patsy.

“There’s been talk about a movie or a four-parter or two [episodes of] 90 minutes. We’d love to do it again. I’m really hoping something might happen next year.”

Adrian added that creator Jed Mercurio has already sorted “a couple of templates as to how things could go,” and its a sentiment shared with co-star Martin Compston.

The actor, who played waistcoat-wearing Detective Inspector Steve Arnott, told The Sun: “We sat down with Jed recently.

“We’ve always taken a year or two between series. This is no different.”

On whether there is more to come from AC-12, Martin said: “We won’t do it for the sake of it. We’ll do it if there’s something to tell.”

In June, Martin caused a stir on Twitter when he posted a picture of himself at the pub with his LoD castmates, Vicky McClure (who played Kate Fleming), and Adrian. Also at the pub was writer Jed, which caused fans to hope that the team were plotting more episodes.

Co-star Vicky also got into the action recently, telling Good Morning Britain in June: “We’d all go back. We adore working with each other. Jed’s writing is phenomenal, we’ve been working together for over 10 years now.”
