Brad Pitt has unexpectedly shared his love for wholesome competition series, The Great Pottery Throw Down.

It turns out that the A-list actor is a big fan of the Channel 4 show, in which amateur potters try and impress judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller to be crowned the winner.

Brad made the surprising admission during an interview with Joe.co.uk for his new film, Bullet Train, alongside co-stars Brian Tyree Henry and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

The trio were quizzed about what they put on when they “want to watch stuff explode” and co-star Brian picked The Great British Bake-Off, before Brad chimed in with his favourite high-octane telly show...about pottery.

Brad piped up: “If we’re going that route, I’m going The Great Pottery Throw Down,” to which Brian responded: “Brad, how have we never talked about this?!”

Brad said he’d “Seen every season” before both him and Henry praised judge Keith.

“He’s so kind. He’s so supportive,” Brad continued, before confessing: “I tear up.”

If Brad is sitting down to binge-watch the cosy programme, it might be to do with the fact he’s recently admitted to slowing down his career as the years roll on.

He first burst onto the scene in 1991’s Thelma and Louise, before moving on to the likes of True Romance, Se7en, Fight Club and Ocean’s Eleven to name just a few.

With numerous film titles, and producer credits, under his belt, Brad has just confessed he considers himself in the final stages of his career.

In a new interview with GQ, he explained: “I consider myself on my last leg, this last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?”

Don't expect Brad to sit back on his laurels though, as he explained: "I’m one of those creatures that speaks through art. I just want to always make. If I’m not making, I’m dying in some way.

"I was always moving with the currents, drifting in a way, and onto the next. I think I spent years with a low-grade depression, and it’s not until coming to terms with that, trying to embrace all sides of self—the beauty and the ugly—that I’ve been able to catch those moments of joy."

In his next project, Bullet Train, Brad plays Ladybug, a trained killer who wants to give up the game but is pulled back in by his handler Maria Beetle (played by fellow Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock) to collect a briefcase on a bullet train heading from Tokyo to Morioka.

Bullet Train is out in cinemas now.
