Euro 2022: Young England fan gets final tickets after video of her goes viral

This Sunday, the entire country is set to stop what it is doing to cheer on the Lionesses as they face Germany in the Euro 2022 final. And one lucky young England supporter is set to be at the sold-out match at Wembley, after an adorable video of her captured the hearts of the nation.

A clip of the young fan, called Tess, went viral after England beat Sweden in the semi-final at Sheffield’s Bramall Lane on Tuesday night. Following the incredible 4-0 win, as the players lapped up the atmosphere from the pitch and celebratory music played over the stadium’s PA, cameras cut to Tess, who was wearing an England kit, holding an England scarf and joyfully singing along to Sweet Caroline. The young supporter enthusiastically punched the air as she sang along to the “so good, so good, so good” part of the song.

The clip soon went viral across social media, with Lionesses Twitter among many accounts to share it: 

Tess then appeared on BBC Breakfast with her gran, and later yesterday (27th July) she appeared remotely at half-time during coverage of the other Euro 2022 semi-final, between Germany and France.

Presenter Gabby Logan surprised her with a pair of tickets to the final on Sunday, and also invited her to meet the presenting team. Including former player Alex Scott. Tess couldn’t believe it!

England will take on Germany in the Euro 2022 final at 5pm on Sunday, after German striker Alexandra Popp scored twice during a 2-1 semi-final win over France.
