Netflix viewers want a big change to how shows are displayed.
Fans want the streaming giant to turn off thumbnails when it comes time to choose what to watch.
On Reddit fans are calling for an option to turn the thumbnails off.
"Netflix NEEDS to add an option to turn off thumbnail photos," they wrote.
"I know this might be a repost but it has to get attention and happen... Just make it a generic logo for the thumbnails if we select to turn it on. I've seen so many spoilers in the thumbnails and it kills the hype a little bit."
Some fans posted ideas of what Netflix could do instead.
One wrote: "They should at least offer the option to turn off the thumbnails. The current thumbnails do spoil away the content of the shows. They could either put the name of the tv series as a thumbnail or some random dynamic pictures of the show/movie which are unrelated to its content."
Someone else said: "I just hate when I'm on a browser and I'm scrolling with the mouse wheel but anything the cursor passes over becomes a larger thumbnail and grabs my attention away from scanning the page naturally."
One complained: "It's funny, because there are literally shows i haven't watched because the thumbnail spoiled something.
"For example, I watched seasons 1 and 2 of Stranger Things and then kind of fell off of it. Tell me why the thumbnail just had to spoil things from the current season."
"Yesss totally spoils characters who will die or are still alive," exclaimed another.
Not everyone agreed though: "How do you know it's a spoiler until you watch it. And if you have to watch it to find out, then it is not a spoiler. People crying over thumbnails are crazy."
"This debate has no right answer. This preference is the definition of subjectivity," one tried to settle the argument.
"I have never seen a single spoiler in a thumbnail. Unless I had already seen the film/show," said one.
"I don’t think that is necessary at all. I have never had any episode of a show spoiled due to a thumbnail picture. It’s fine as it is,"
