Aha! If you weren’t lucky enough to get along to Alan Partridge’s live show - which recently toured the country - then the good news is you’ll be able to watch it from the comfort of your living room.

Alan Partridge Live: Stratagem saw Steve Coogan’s iconic character take to the stage to inform, educate and entertain “in approximately equal measure.” The show took radio/TV presenter Alan to huge venues across the UK, and a recording was made at one of his nights at the O2 Arena in London.

It has now been announced that the recording will stream on Amazon Prime UK. As reported by Deadline, it will appear on the platform “towards the end of the year.”

When Steve Coogan joined The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky before the tour started, he said: “The secret to Alan is, it’s all the things that we think sometimes but, rational people, we think things, but normally we pause before we say something, and make sure we’re not going to say something that’s going to upset or offend someone. Alan doesn’t really have that filter.”

He added: “He’s got the enthusiasm and the energy, and he’s got the ostensible qualities for a broadcaster, but he’s really scrabbling around in the dark for something to say that has any substance.”

The hilarious two-hour live show was a motivational lecture, which saw Alan travel through time, perform song and dance numbers, invite a troublesome ‘audience member’ on stage, chat to a former guest from This Time via video link, and speak on the phone to good old Lynn, his long-suffering PA.

And even if you did head along to one of the nights on Alan’s arena tour, there will be something new to check out when it streams. Chris Bird, Managing Director Prime Video UK told Deadline that Coogan/Partridge will shoot a “front and back-end piece," for the show.

“We’ll do the requisite filming to complete a home-viewing experience as opposed to the stadium experience,” Bird said.

While we wait for the live show to arrive later this year, you can always revisit some of Alan’s all-time greatest moments.
