If you enjoy watching amateur cooks inviting competitors for dinner in their own homes in Come Dine With Me, then you’ll be interested in a whole new twist to the format, which hits screens very soon.

Starting on Channel 4 on Monday 27th June, all-new Come Dine with Me: The Professionals will see professional chefs battling it out in the kitchen.

The essential premise of the show is basically the same, but there are a few key differences, not least that the people making the food are actually very good at it!

In each self-contained episode, three local restaurant duos will go head-to-head as they take it in turns to host the others for a three-course dinner. The teams will be aiming to win a £1000 prize.

Just like in the original show, the visiting restaurant pairs will score the hosts at the end of the meal. The difference is that they will be scored out of 20, rather than ten.

The dinners will take place during a normal service, so the visitors will have the chance to see what the atmosphere is like, as well as the service and (obviously) the food.

And we know what you’re wondering: will the man, the legend, the Come Dine With Me voiceover king Dave Lamb be narrating the show? Happily, yes he will!

Check out the trailer here:

Starting the new series will be chef/owner Ben and front of house Jo, at their intimate dining restaurant The Barn in Yorkshire. Then, chef Brian and his business partner and other half Lisa, will serve up some French classics and a platter of street food at Disco Kitchen.

The final duo are Fint restaurant owner and chef Simon and his manager Sakina, who will put on a Scandi-inspired spread for their guests.

We're looking forward to this one. Will there be any “What a sad little life, Jane” moments from the professionals? Here’s hoping!

You can watch Come Dine With Me: The Professionals on Channel 4 at 5pm on Monday 27th June.
