ITV are said to be in talks to revive the iconic series.

It's been four years since we've had any Big Brother on our TV screens. Launched on Channel 4 in 2000-2010, the series moved to Channel 5 in 2011 before ending in 2018.

And now it could be coming back, although on a new station.

"ITV is the home of big appointment telly," a source told The Sun. "They know better than anyone how to put on big live events. They think putting it on ITV2 will open it up to a new audience and legion of younger fans. They are really keen on getting the deal done on Big Brother, and hope to have something firm to announce soon. The talks are still at an early and delicate stage, and the next few weeks will be key...

"It needs the full treatment and they're confident they are the ones who can return it to its legendary former glory. It has millions of fans and is one of the most iconic TV shows of its generation."

Which is exciting, is it not? And yet a recent update from Broadcast claims that talks to revive the show are more advanced than the above would suggest.

"The broadcaster hopes that BB could become a young-skewing programming event of a similar scale to Love Island, but it will not be solely populated by beautiful people like the dating format...

"Instead, its casting will seek to reflect a slice of contemporary Britain and will be based on finding interesting characters."

Anyone got the number of Davina McCall?
