Inspiring news from Japan as a heroic sailor sets a new world sailing record and proves that age is just a number, and his number is 83!

Say konichiwa to the remarkable Kenichi Horie, who sailed across the pacific ocean without stopping when he was 23. That’s a feat of endeavour in itself but the intrepid Kenichi has done it again, sixty years later!! The ocean crossing hero did it in a 19 foot sailing boat called The Sultry Mermaid III, crossing the world’s biggest ocean solo in two months.

“Don’t let your dreams just stay as dreams” said the inspiring Kenichi, “Have a goal and work towards achieving this and a beautiful life awaits.” Hear hear!

HIs first record was a lot harder, a 23-year-old then used car parts salesman, Kenichi became the first person ever to make a non-stop, unaided crossing of  the Pacific, eating only rice and canned food on the way with just a little boat radio. This time his diet was more diverse and even though he made no stops he got to speak to his family every day.
