Actor Damian Lewis and comedian John Bishop found an entertaining way to kill time over the weekend.
The pair were stuck on the tarmac in France while attempting to head home from the Champions League final in Paris on Sunday (29th May), but their flight was delayed for several hours.
As the boredom slowly crept in, Damian and John made light of their travel woes together by sharing updates of their joint delirium.
Giving fans a glimpse of life on the stalled plane, John tweeted: “I managed to get a seat on a club charter flight from Paris. This felt like a win when I got on with @lewis_damian. More than 5 hours later and we have not moved I wish I had got the train.”
Alongside the caption was a smiling selfie of John and Damian together, next to a separate pic of a tired-looking John holding a glass of beer.
Meanwhile, Billions actor Damian uploaded another smiling photo of the stranded duo, and captioned it with: “With @johnbishop100 on our way home from Paris. Top lad. YNWA,” closely followed by a frowning selfie with “Still here on the tarmac 5 hours later with @JohnBishop100 #frenchshambles.”
Trying their best to make light of the frustrating situation, Damian then added two more photos of the friends pulling funny faces, and said: “Make that 6 hours me and @JohnBishop100 day 2 in the Big Brother House,” to which John added: “You can see the cracks in our relationship developing ....”
Luckily for the telly stars, they had the chance to enter the pilot’s cockpit to help pass the time.
Damian wrote: “S’alright @JohnBishop100 and me have had an idea,” before John replied: “He made me do it your honour ....”
Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by Real Madrid during the game they travelled to see, but the match was overshadowed by the chaotic organisation ahead of the game which caused a kick-off delay of 36 minutes.
John previously tweeted his disappointment, writing: “At the gate in Paris - been here for 25 minutes and nobody has been allowed in - disgraceful treatment of fans who are displaying an unbelievable level of patience."
Liverpool FC have requested a formal investigation into what happened.
