Fantastic news from Israel and the results of the latest study that’s shown an extract of a particular fungus and the cannabis plant can kill 100% of pancreatic cancer cells with zero side effects.
Say hello to the team at Haifa University who’ve been studying the effects of a botanical drug based on a fungus called cyathus striatus and a cannabis extract and they’ve had a breakthrough with one of the nastiest and most aggressive illnesses, pancreatic cancer. Unlike radioactive drugs like chemotherapy, which operate on a scorched earth policy, destroying everything in their path, this stuff attacks the cancer cells and destroys 100% of them, without damaging the cells around them. Interestingly the cannabis extract alone killed 80% of the cancer cells, it was the addition of the fungus extract that accounted for the remaining 20%. Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst and has a very low survival rate, so this will give hope to a lot of people. They still have a way to go before the drug is allowed to be produced and sold but this is a very real and solid step towards “a concrete solution” to one of the most awful of diseases.

Fantastic tech news from Germany and a game-changing solar powered bus that’s going to be on the roads soon.
Say guten morgen to Sono Motors, started in 2016 by three friends and they’ve designed a solar powered trailer that feeds into the hybrid system of the bus it’s connected to and gives it a massive boost for power and things like air conditioning and steering, which of course are normally powered by diesel. Each bus towing this solar powered bad boy will save up to 2,500 litres of diesel each year and as well as 6.5 metric tons of CO2. As well as all this, the trailer carries passengers on busy routes and at busy times of the year and when things get really hot in the summer, when diesel engines are traditionally chucking out plumes of filth to generate enough energy for the aircon alone, these trailers will help the buses be so much cleaner and last longer too, the electrical boost keeps the batteries stable and increases their shelf life, so they’re saving money there too.
