In a bid to entice viewers back, the biggest night in Hollywood has already put together a stellar line up.

The Oscars are shaking things up this year by having not one, not two, but three different hosts, marking 35 years since that many people were at the helm of the prestigious event.

After rumours began to swirl, comedians Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and actress Regina Hall were announced as the 2022 hosts during Good Morning America today (Tuesday 15th February).

On the night itself, each host will be in charge of a separate hour, and it’ll be Amy’s job to get them going as she’s first up on the billing.

In an official Oscars statement, Wanda, Amy and Regina said: “We want people to get ready to have a good time.  It’s been a while."

The 94th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on 27th March.

Amy teased the exciting news on her own Instagram earlier this week. She shared a carousel of some career highlights, with the caption: “Big fun news comin.”

The talented trio are the first dedicated hosts of the awards season event, with the last three years going without in favour of a revolving door of celebs handing out the prizes.

The last host was late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel in 2018, and before him it was Chris Rock, Neil Patrick Harris and Ellen DeGeneres.

Show bosses are keeping their fingers crossed their hosting line-up can help spur on audiences to watch. Their 2021 ceremony was the lowest rated show since the first televised event all the way back in 1953.

In another show first, there will now be a fan-decided category.

Twitter users can vote for their favourite films of 2021 using the hashtag #OscarsFanFavorite, even if that film isn't currently nominated.

The film that receives the most votes by 3rd March will be recognised during the illustrious event, but it won't be a formal Oscars category. Hopefully they'll still get to hold one of those famous gold statues!

However, if you're tweeting away about your favourite film, you might be one of the lucky three plucked out by Oscar organisers for an all-expenses-paid trip to LA to present an Oscar prize at next year's event.

Meanwhile, Power Of The Dog was by far the most nominated, ending up with an astounding 12 nominations, including Best Picture and Leading Actor for Benedict Cumberbatch.

The movie will also be battling it out in the Actor in a Supporting Role category with both Kodi Smit-McPhee and Jesse Plemons nominated.

Next up is Dune, which landed 10 nods overall. They were recognised in mostly creative categories, including Make-up and Hair-Styling, Production Design and Sound, but did land in the coveted Best Picture list too.

Kenneth Branagh is no doubt elated at his semi-autobiographical epic Belfast getting nominated seven times, in Directing, Best Picture, and Actress in a Supporting Role for Judi Dench.

The 94th Oscars will take place Sunday March 27th.
